Many skiers and riders consider Magic to be one of the Northeast’s best kept secrets - a true renaissance of the old-fashioned New England ski area experience. Conveniently located less then a 1/2 hr from Manchester Vermont. With the mountains affordable pricing policy (check the website for specials) visitors will find they have some extra dollars in their pockets at the end of the ski day. Tucked away in the shadows of southern Vermont’s mega-resorts, Magic serves up some of the Northeast’s most challenging and rugged terrain. Beginners and intermediate levels need not be afraid; there are plenty of runs for you that are maintained with meticulous grooming and snowmaking. The area prides itself on its learning and development programs for all levels. Furthermore, the Ala Kazaam Tubing Park is enjoyed by young and old alike and operates at night under the lights.

Magic offers the convenience of one central base lodge that makes it easy for groups and families to meet if they chose to go separate ways for a few turns. Saturday, November 28 Thanksgiving Weekend Open Lodge

When: Lodge open from 11-6pm. What: The base lodge will be open on Saturday, November 28 from 11-6pm. Now is the perfect time to pick up your season pass, catch up with old friends and meet some new ones over a beverage from Goniff's Den Bar while we await the 09-10 Season. Where: Magic Base Lodge. Cost: Free!

Saturday, February 20 Torchlight Parade and Fireworks

When: Participants meet at 5:30pm. Parade and Fireworks begin at 6:30.
What: Come on out and join the Torchlight Parade as skiers and riders make their way down from the top of the mountian. Fireworks will follow immediately after the parade.
Details: The Torchlight parade will be split into two groups this year by age. Ages 14+ will be going to the top of the mountain with torches, and the 14 and under group will be starting at the top of the Beginner Handle Tow and using lightsticks. The sign up sheet will be open on Saturday morning in at the inside ticket window.
Where: Meet in the lower level of the Base lodge
Cost: Free!

Saturday, February 27 Black Magic Extreme Challenge

When: Registration 10-12, Competition starts at 1pm.
What: Presented by Vermont Snow Wizards and Magic Mountain. Competitors tackle the hardest trail at Magic to find out the best skier/rider on the mountain. Judging is based on degree of difficulty, style and speed. First prize is a piece of the total entry fee and a season pass to Magic Mountain. Competitors can register the day of the event or preregister at Vermont Snow Wizards.
Where: Venue to be determined.
Cost: $60- includes lift tikcet ($25 for season pass holders)

Saturday, March 06 Magic Mountain Rando Race

When: Registration: 9am; Pre-Race Briefing: 9:30am; Race Start: 10am
What: Registration morning of and prior to race date. Registration fee will $15, includes prizes for the top finishers and schwag for all. (A discounted lift ticket option will be available for the afternoon.) For more information email: MagicRandoRace@gmail.com

Saturday, April 03 Easter Egg Hunt

When: When the lifts start turning. What: Jump on the lifts as early as you can and search for Easter Eggs scattered around Magic Mountain. Eggs will contain candy and other prizes. Where: All over the mountain. Cost: Free!

Snowboarding
The Hokus Pokus Terrain Park is up and running! Racing Programs & Competitions Join the Alpine Training Center sponsored by the Alpine Club, for the best coaching in this area, VARA,SCJC and USSA sanctioned races.

Dining
There is an abundance of dinning options in Manchester, VT which is a quick twenty minute ride from the mountain area. There are also plenty of options in the town of Londonderry, VT just minutes from the slopes. Check both towns Chamber websites for detailed information.

Nightlife
Magic Mountain hosts Après Ski parties every day all season long. On the weekends the area boasts live music and other entertainment. From the enormous sun decks attached to the base lodge you can pull up a seat and watch your friends and family as they make their way down the slopes. Also, many adults will send their youngsters into the tube park (shouting distance from the decks) for a few hours while they imbibe. The park is open until 7:00 PM on Saturday nights and vacation weeks. Get there early because it fills up quick. You are going to get thirsty skiing and riding Magic. There are also numerous options in the surrounding towns for off mountain night life.
