Fine food, great accommodations, direct access to so many quality activities…all these ingredients surround a dedication to excellence, friendliness, and a quality experience found at The Hungry Trout Resort.

Lodging:
Accommodations at The Hungry Trout include quiet and spacious, newly decorated rooms rated AAA and contain all the amenities one would expect of larger hotels at a fraction of the price. Each of our 22 rooms offer private baths, 27"cable TV, in-room coffee, direct dial phones, and romantic, picture window views of the nearby slopes. Two room suites with kitchens are available and are perfect for families.

Dining:
Guests of our facility have a choice of dining experiences... the fine dining and firelit romance of The Hungry Trout Restaurant, or the fun and frivolity of the area's favorite apres eatery and drinkery, R.F. McDougall's Pub. Both offer unique, quality experiences without equal in our area.

Activities:
The many special treasures of the Adirondacks are all minutes from your doorstep at the Hungry Trout Resort! Unlimited recreational experiences and a host of popular attractions abound in our area. You are encouraged to visit our town's website - whitefacenewyork.com - or nearby Lake Placid's website - lakeplacid.com - for much more information and access to the many links that will detail the wealth of activities, attractions, and experiences available to our guests.
Please remember, prices for accommodations in Lake Placid far exceed those in our community and many travelers prefer the more tranquil atmosphere of its little neighbor, Wilmington. We're just minutes away from downtown Lake Placid, but a great distance away from its hustle and bustle!

Bird Watching:
Just as Browns, Rainbows and Brook Trout fill our rivers and ponds, Grouse and Woodcock thrive in the Adirondacks! The Hungry Trout Resort leases 1,000 acres of regenerated forest land owned by International Paper just 15 minutes away and is reserved entirely for the use of our guests enjoying our hunting packages. Loaded with Aspen, Birch and conifers, and dotted with beaver dams throughout, our leased covert contains ideal habitat for large numbers of grouse and woodcock. Flush counts taken for the past 12 years suggest comparative numbers with western lodges charging five times the price of our packages!
Each of our six experienced guides have access to many more acres of private habitat you may visit as well. We encourage hunters to bring their own dog with them as all of our birds are wild and the experience you’ll share with your hunting companion will last forever.
Book early, as once you do hunt with us, like so many others you’ll find very few reasons to drive or fly the many hundreds of miles to other far more expensive hunting areas. As most of our guests stay with us year after year, we encourage you to book early!.

Weddings:
Nestled in the shadow of majestic Whiteface Mountain, The Hungry Trout Motor Inn offers upscale accommodations and first class dining in an Adirondack setting unequaled in its beauty and splendor. Each of our 22 spacious guest rooms and kitchenette suites provides picture window views that frame the surrounding mountains and the peaceful sunrises and sunsets they present us each day.
The leader in providing recreational activities in the Adirondacks, The Hungry Trout is headquarters for fly fishermen and women in the Spring and Fall, skiers in the winter, and in the summer, mountain bikers, swimmers, canoers, boaters, runners, lovers, kayakers, birders, walkers, honeymooners, leaf peepers, and generally, grownups wanting to be kids again.
With bustling Lake Placid just fifteen minutes away, our facility is a favorite for those skiers seeking quiet, comfortable lodging, quick access to the slopes, and the best ski packages anywhere. The Hungry Trout is the closest full service facility to Whiteface Mountain.
